The Peewee A2 Rattlers attended the Subway BCLA Minor Box Lacrosse Provincial Championships this past weekend in Delta. The Rattlers opened up the tournament with a 10-5 win over the Langley Thunder on Thursday. On Friday they were able to beat the Richmond roadrunners 8-5 and the Prince George Posse 7-6. Saturday the Rattlers had their last 2 games of Round robin play, they secured a win over the Vancouver Burrards 11-2 but suffered their first loss to the Saanich Tigers 4-0. Kamloops finished 2nd in the Round robin play and booked a rematch against Saanich in the Gold Medal game on Sunday. The Rattlers played hard all the way to the end of the game but fell just short, losing 4-3 to earn a Silver Medal.
The Peewee A2 Rattlers had a very successful season this year with a Bronze medal in the Kamloops Alan Price Memorial tournament in May, Gold in the Wayne Goss Peewee Tournament in Semiahmoo, Gold at the North Okanagan Rock the house tournament and now a Silver in the BC Provincial Championships.
The Peewee Rattlers would like to thank everyone for their support in making this such a memorable season and they wish the best of luck to the Midget A1 Rattlers in their Provincial Championships July 25-28th in Langley.
KMLA received a $7000 grant from the Kamloops Sports Legacy Fund to assist with the needs of the 2019 Box lacrosse season. These funds have provided KMLA the opportunity to purchase a secure shipping container to house the league’s equipment.
